‘Shimmer and Hum’ is part of the Breathing the Wild series, which explores the connection between mood and nature, focusing on the connectivity between all life and the potential of the higher self. Here, two dragonflies shimmer in the sunlight - symbols of transformation, hope and limitless boundaries.

This piece requires patience to create, as each wax layer is carved and fused to the one below until about 20 layers have been built. The technique also requires the artist to ‘let go’, as the artwork starts to take on a life of its own.
