"Wallaby in the Rosy Dawn"

‘Wallaby in the Rosy Dawn’ (May 2020) is an original encaustic artwork by Australian artist, Tanya Ogilvie-White. It was created using the ancient hot wax technique and is based on a series of photographs the artist took of a Bennett’s Wallaby in Tasmania’s Mount William National Park in 2017. She fell in love with this little guy, who was not in the least bit camera shy and watched her with interest as she photographed him from afar. She loved his little black paws and inquiring gaze, which became etched in her memory for ever.

Materials: Encaustic wax with raw pigment and gold leaf on cradled and braced birch panel.

Dimensions: A single panel measuring 45cm x 50cm x 2cm

Prepped with picture hardware and ready to hang.
