The Story of Ros

A$1,900.00

Ros was a wild Eastern Rosella, who visited our garden every day. She first appeared in 2020, when my beloved dog was unwell. After he passed away, she sat with me day after day, for many weeks, and helped mend my broken heart. I fell in love with her and decided to immortalize her by creating this artwork.

The substrate is a wood-mounted, enlarged photograph of Ros, which I encased in layers of beeswax and resin. I fused each layer with a live flame, embedding raw pigments and other materials in between, and inking and etching each layer to create definition and depth. The finished piece is cured, hardened and prepped with picture hardware, ready to hang. It does not need to be framed (the encaustic edge is part of the artwork’s charm).

Dimensions: 42cm x 30cm x 2cm

Weight: 1kg

Materials: encaustic wax and pigments on cradled wooden board

This is an original, archival-quality encaustic artwork. It is available for shipping internationally. To purchase this piece, please contact me via email tanya@scorchingskiesart.com
