'The Lucky Country'

A$1,500.00

‘The Lucky Country’ is an original encaustic painting by Australia-based wildlife artist Tanya Ogilvie-White. Created at the height of the devastating 2019-2020 bushfires, it forms part of the artist’s Extinction Series, intended to draw attention to the climate crisis facing Australia, and the urgent need for action to address critical issues, such as the extinction crisis, decline in biodiversity, and habitat loss.

The painting shows a burnt tree in a flooded landscape, with a rainbow streaking across a stormy, smoke-filled sky. The tree itself is blooming with magical flowers and a key to a better future, which is still within reach. Will we grasp it or continue on our current path of destruction?

Materials: Encaustic with raw pigment on wooden panel.

Dimensions: 42 cm x 30 cm x 2 cm.

This painting is prepped with picture hardware and ready to hang. It could also be framed.
