Lewis (SOLD)

A$1,500.00

‘Lewis’ is an original encaustic artwork by Australia-based wildlife artist, Tanya Ogilvie-White. It depicts a koala caught up in the devastating Australian bushfires of 2019-2020, and was inspired by a real life koala named Lewis, who was rescued from the fire by a woman who ran into the flames to try to save his life. It’s part of a series of artworks that the artist has created to draw international attention to the plight of the northern koala, numbers of which are rapidly dwindling. Urgent action is needed to conserve this precious animal to prevent its extinction.

Materials: Encaustic with raw pigments and gold leaf on wooden board.

Dimensions: 33cm x 28cm x 4cm.

Professionally framed and ready to hang.

This fine art originally can be shipped internationally. Please email the artist for further information: tanya@scorchingskiesart.com
