'Last Light' is the title piece from my new series of cold wax and encaustic originals. It shows sunlight shining through eucalyptus leaves, which are almost translucent in the glow. The surface has a gentle sheen from the cold wax, and reflects soft light into the room. I love its calm and meditative atmosphere, which is created by its simplicity.

I painted this original artwork on wooden panel, using cold wax, oils and other materials. It's framed in Tasmanian oak, prepped with picture hardware and ready to hang.
