This encaustic original was inspired by the wildlife along the beautiful Clarence River in Northern New South Wales, Australia. It shows two white-cheeked honeyeaters, flitting around on the river bank in the early morning light, before the sun has risen above the horizon. It's a tranquil scene, made more ethereal by the many layers of wax that are burned into the panel and the materials that are embedded deep within.

This is one of the last remaining artworks of my "Out on the Edge" series of encaustic originals, which have found their way into private collections all around the world. It is museum grade, prepped with picture hardware, and ready to hang.
